New in NC
I bought a 70 CST, I guess it is, at least it has the emblems on it. I am big time in to Camaros but wanted another truck to drive some. I had a 72 but got talked out of it about 10 years ago. I regretted it ever since. I do m y own restorations on my Camaros. I would like to put late model running gear in my 70. How can you tell if it is a CST? It does not have the original motor, and has a cheap 10 year old paint job, but is a pretty solid truck.

Re: New in NC
Check the options sticker in the glovebox, it should say on there, then to make sure that is correct to your truck match the vin with the vin on the vin plate.
Oh and to the board from KY!

Re: New in NC
Hello and welcome from Asheboro NC! I also have a 69 firebird/camaro along with working on along with my 69 cst & a 68 longbed.
I believe that it would say cst truck on the options list located on back of glove box door where the build sheet is, someone correct me if I am wrong Anyway, I am sure if you posted some pics of the truck and maybe a close up of that build sheet someone can confirm for you the legitity of the cst. Anyway, glad to meet another 67 - 72 truck member that wrenches on his own rides. This is a great site to learn everything about these trucks. Later, Ken |

Re: New in NC
The sticker is gone from the glove box. It has been painted and the dash covered with upholstery and woodgrain. Not to my taste. What were the standard options included with CST? It has the woodgrain trim and emblems on the side. I will try to post some pics as soon as I take some. Its basically a 20 footer. Looks good from there.

Re: New in NC
Welcome from Louisiana from another Camaro/70 CST owner! I have family in Winston Salem. A 70 CST should have upper and lower body trim, vinyl covered door panels, full foam seat, carpet, CST emblems on the fenders and the glove box, a cargo light, and a vinyl headliner if I'm not mistaken. Post some pics when you can! Are you a Z-10 owner?

Re: New in NC
Liz ' Denver is west bank of Lake Norman just north of Charlotte. Where are you?
Hugger, yea I have a Z10. I also have a couple of Hugger Orange 69 camaros. My truck has the woodgrain trim and cargo lite. The dash has been covered and painted. the nheadliner has a aftermarket one with radio and speakers built in. But the seat ane door panels are original but some wood was added to the doors. I will take some pics this weekend. It's been raining off and on for a couple of days. |
