pics of my '69 C30 flatbed
Thanks for all the help in finding out info on my truck. I got the truck from a guy that had it sitting in his field for 10 years. Rats had moved in and it took me months to get rid of them. They destroyed most of the wiring but the truck did run, just not well. The motor still doesn't run exactly right. 2 cylinders don't have as much compression as the others, but I still drive it around town because its a great old truck! Only paid $700 for it."Rather push a chevy than drive a ford".

Cool truck, but it looks like you need to drive by a gas station real soon.

Re: pics of my '69 C30 flatbed
yah, none of the guages work or lights for that matter. The rear suspension needs replacing before I can carry a load on it. I drove my suburban up on it, though, and it fit with room to spare. Just too heavy, but I already have a new air ride being put together for it.

Re: pics of my '69 C30 flatbed
nice truck 67 C-30. Does look just like mine. Have you restored it to haul cars? If so, where did you find your rear suspension? Nobody out here, by me, can get the leaf springs, so I'm working on an air ride system instead. What size tires and wheels are you running? Thanks
BTW how do I become a member of the 1 ton club?

Re: pics of my '69 C30 flatbed
Mine factory leafs w/ helper springs added. I am also running a 2" lift block because the weight of the bed made it sit down in the rear. I have hauled some very heavy trucks and have had no problems. I buy/salvage old cars, muscle cars, and trucks and I use it to haul the cars I buy. In the last year I built a new 383 SBC for it and put a Dana 70 rearend under the truck to more highway-friendly gears. I am running 285/75/R16 tires. They are 10 ply "E" load range tires for the weight.

To become a member of the one ton club, go to your usercp and look for "group memberships" or something like that.
