Is a 68 1 ton frame single wheel the same as what came under a dual rear wheel frame?

I would think so, probably the only other difference might be a heavier set of leaf springs? The 67-72 factory assembly manual would show that,or somebody on here with more knowledge than me. I'm sure somebody will answer your question pretty quick.

Yea, 1 ton singles is a longhorn, or 9' step(133" wb). Thats the same frame under a short 1 ton dually, but as mentioned, the spring package is different

my '69 one ton dually has a 175" wheelbase, but the frame does look like it had 4 feet or so added to the end of it. Could take a pic if needed.

I think the factory also put out a 157" wb cab/chassis....but you might shout at Andy(longhorn mail) to be sure on the specs.

But, wouldn't the frame still be different (taller) at the back on the 157" wb?

the frame is taller on all one tons, but that doesn't matter, the frame is the same, single rear or daul rear... I think the springs may even be the same... just way more likely to have overloads on a daulie.

Thanks guys............I didn't want to ask to many questions until I looked at it. For the price it's a good deal but the frame would be a bonus.

frame and springs are the same. andy's correct--duals more likely to have auxilliary spring setup.
