Tooooo Bouncy!!!!!!!!

I recently dropped the rearend of my truck 4" using just coils, and I have had 2 people tell me its too bouncy, Why is it so bouncy and what are the solutions to this. We did not relocate the shocks. Should we?? Or is there an easier way out.
Thanks Jason

If you left the shocks in the stock location, like you said, it is possible they are no longer at an effective angle to dampen the springs.

You're going to have to relocate the shocks so they are at a similar angle to stock. Vertical is best, but yields a harsh ride. 30 degrees from vertical is the very limit of getting any decent dampening from your shocks.

shock relocater kits are pretty cheap from early classic. you might want to get some decent shocks if you haven't already done so. did you use urethane bushings? they make it ride rougher, especially in the front, i'm not sure if it makes much difference in ride quality in the back cuz i didnt really drive my truck until suspension was done.

Get the lowered shock and shock mount relocator kit from ECE, mine rides even better than before I lowered it, and I went 6" in
the back. Call those guys, they know what they're doing.

I used 4 in. springs in back of my 67 and left the shock mounts in stock location. I did use the front shocks for a 4x4 in the rear and it rides like a caddy, I impressed myself. It has no bouncy movement, very firm but forgiving. I used urethane bushings in the rear for trail arms and locator bar. In fact I got in the bed and jumped up and down and it didn't bounce and I weigh better that 200#.

I droped my short wheel base 4 inches with drop shocks and it rides better than it did before i droped it. I didn't relocate the shockes or any other modifications.

The old shocks had helper springs on them, that may be why I think it rides great.
