Quick radiator question?

I have a friend who is going to sell me a brand new radiator for 100 bucks! It's for a 454 but it is the aluminum with plastic tanks. Question is what lower and upper mounts do I use? Pretty sure it is not as wide as a 4 row but not as small as a 2row! Anyways if there is someone using this radiator (which if I remember there is) or have any knowledge please chime in. Need to replace my radiator this weekend!

The 454 radiator should be a 4 core, you will need a new 1 piece upper bracket which you can get from a dealership as well as new rubber isolators... other than that it is a direct bolt in. Sorry this may be a bit late, most of us were probably wrenching this weekend..

You will need the top bracket to bolt the new radiator. The bracket is a single piece. The smaller radiators used two small brackets. You will also need the two upper and lower rubber bushings. The bushings cost 4.95 each at www.lmctruck.com. The bracket is also 19.95.

I've been running a 454 aluminum core with the plastic ends for 4 years now. No problems what so ever. It has two 14" electric fans bolted to it too. I also run a zinc anode in it too. The zinc anode reduces corrosion inside the engine and radiator. The zinc anode just hangs off a ring at the radiator neck under the cap. You can purchase the zinc anode at a parts store or www.jcwhitney.com.

So just to make sure aluminum or copper if its for a 454 then you use 454 brackets! Here is the auction below my friend has going for it. Obviously he lives in Michigan but he swears its only a 2 row but he ordered it for a 454!

78-845 top radiator cover $14.95
78-955 4-core 1 piece fan shroud $19.95

433730-4 core radiator auto zone part #, $158.99
(this is the part # for a 1984 454 1 ton)

the top rad cover mounts to the rad support, and the shroud holding it in place, everything else, bolts, clips ya just re-use from your stock set up

pretty cheap for this conversion by the way, all the parts i bought from chevy duty were GM
