255/70/15 tires
It's time to buy new tires for the 86. I'm wanting to run BFGoodrich T/A Radial, 255/70/15 tires. I would like to see some pics of trucks with this size tires. I was considering 285/70/15's for the rear, but I'll be better off being able to rotate since it's a DD.
Can I see some pics, Please? Here's how it looks now with 275/60/15's.

Re: 255/70/15 tires
Here's my 86 C1500 GMC on 255 70 15 BFG Radial T/A's. This size is always special order. I just had a flat (from a screw, no fault of the tire) and I had to order two more. They said they are three weeks out. They are on 15x7" factory alloys.

Re: 255/70/15 tires
255/70/15s on 15x8 Eagle Series 054s. Got them from recommendation by Slonaker and the guy who sold me the wheels, they fill the fender a bit better than a 60 series. A little more meat.

Re: 255/70/15 tires
The 255/70's are actually skinnier then the 275/60's. They do have a 1/2 inch taller sidewall.

Re: 255/70/15 tires
There is a pic of mine in my signature at the bottom of this message. They are BFG Radial TAs on 8" rally wheels. I have more, but my webhost lost my photo gallery...
BTW, I'm on my second set. I bought these at Costco. Slonaker |

Re: 255/70/15 tires
remember the first number is tire width in MM and second is the sidewall height in percentage of the tread width
255/70 = 255 MM tire width 179 MM sidewall 275/60 = 275 MM width 165 sidewall or do i have it backwards? |

Re: 255/70/15 tires
Shane, have you checked on a 285/70/15? They're 30" tall which is only slightly taller than a 235/75/15. Here is a pic of Bigarmzz old truck. This truck has 235/75/15 front and 285/70/15 rear. I beleive that's what he told me.
