Front of Front Leafs
Here is a pic of my front leafs in the truck at the top of my sig.
Why does one have that piece of metal...and one not. It does not appear that one fell off or anything...does not look like anything was ever attached. Cheers, Tim

Re: Front of Front Leafs
I'm going to move this to the 4x4 forum. I saw an aswer to this question a while back, but can't remember where or what it was....

Re: Front of Front Leafs
I believe it is to control front to rear motion of the spring in case the main leaf on the spring would break. Since the steering is in that side and it is front to back, you would potentially lose steering control if the spring broke. I think you will also see an angle bracket on the frame behind the rear shackle on that same (drivers side) spring that is there for the same reason. Something like that anyway .

Re: Front of Front Leafs
Hey I had the same thought -
My K-10 has the same thing - and has the angle braket on thre rear side of the spring shackle as well. But why only on the left side? I'll get a picture tomorrow if I can.

Re: Front of Front Leafs
Yep! Its there in case the front spring bolt breaks so you dont lose steering control. Someone else told me that it was a factory recall back in the day but...?
