Hi everybody! New from Appleton, WI...
I just bought an 85 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 yesterday for $500 and I'll be picking it up tomorrow. It's pretty much a POS work truck/winter beater but mechanically it's in great shape with lots of new parts. I'll post some pictures when I pick it up. I look forward to talking with all of you!

Re: Hi everybody! New from Appleton, WI...
Thanks for the welcome everyone! It's great to be here. I just got back about an hour ago from picking up the truck (decided to go tonight to avoid tomorrow's traffic in Milwaukee). Drove it 2 hours back home and it drove and ran great the whole way. It's FUGLY though. I'm just glad I have something to actually haul stuff with now (my Honda Accord doesn't work too well for that) and get me through the snow in the winter. I'll take and post some pictures tomorrow.

Re: Hi everybody! New from Appleton, WI...
Here are some pictures of the truck. Like I said, it's ugly. Mechanically it's in pretty good shape, but the body is completely shot. I'm debating whether or not I should even attempt restoring it sometime down the road, but I don't know if it'd even be worth the trouble.
As you can see, the driver side floor is AWFUL. If you look closely in this picture, you can see the cab is tilted down on the left side. I think it's sagging due to the bad cab floor, but I suppose it could possibly be due to a twisted frame, in which case restoration is out of the question, and it will just be a beater. |
