Just thought I would run the burb through, just can't stomach $20 for a single report. Would be more then happy to make a paypal donation for your help.

You can do a "preliminary" type report that will give you a general idea if there are any entries for the VIN. If there are, then it might be wise to go ahead and spend the $20.

Just my 2 pennies.

Never fun hearing your truck was in 2 prior accidents... Ah well. I knew it was in one-2nd one was a surprise. Absolutely no bad accident stuff on the truck as far as I could tell- frame is straight, tracks straight, handles great. Body panels are well aligned, paint is in good shape. I couldn't find a hint of bondo with my magnet.

The truck just looks like it has never been apart- no cut/welded frame, undercarriage looks nice, there are no inconsistencies between body panels, in the engine compartment, etc. It must have been all cosmetic (at least as far as the burb was concerned). Kind of a bummer, but since I can't find a thing wrong with it personally, no reason to worry about it.

easiest way to get free carfax - go to craigslist.org, under cars and trucks, and post an ad asking for one. these guys are great, always worked for me(3 times now). for your future referances.

The preliminary report doesn't tell you anything. It may say that there is something on the record but doesn't say anything else. It's just a scam to get you to spend the money.

shadetree pro has the best solution to get a full report.
