53 Gmc Hydromatic
Grandfather had a one ton w/hydro n I `ve looked for one since.
They must be rare cuz you don`t see them.I`m pretty sure that 53 was the first year for the GMC automatics- 1/2,3/4, and 1 ton. Does anyone know how many were produced? Or have any clue as to where I could find such info? |

What would something like that be worth , if inrestorable condition? Would still like to find production #`s.If I dug around long enough, I bet I could find an old photo of Grand dad`s.

Found one for sale, went n looked at it today guess what. After seeing it now I remember the truck my Grandfather had was not a 53 gmc hydro but a 54 chevy 3100 1 ton w/automatic , which I believe is even more rare!
