Tire size

What is the original tire size for my 70 C/10 stepside? Right now I have P275/60/R15 on it and would like taller tires. Does that mean I need 285 +? Thanks.

Re: Tire size

Here ya are. Try this site. You can compare tire sizes here.
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
I believe I have seen some 285/70/15 mounted on the rear of 67-72s. It would be a good bit taller than your 275/60/15 and as wide. What type of tread pattern are you looking for? Street or offroad? Rear only right?
There are other tire size calculators to use but this is the only one I remember off hand.

Re: Tire size

I wish someone made a tire with a little more height than a 275/60 but still keep the width. 255/70's are a perfect height but not really wide eough for my likings. I really just don't care alot for the 285/70's on 67-72 pickups. They seem like way too much tire to me. Someone needs to make a 275/65 or 285/65.

If you want to see what 285/70's look like, board member Radman has them on his 67. I may be able to find a few pics myself.
