Seat Cover Tips?

Well the wife came out to the garage yesterday to check out my progress. Something she just doesn't do! I was mocking up the 98 Suburban 2nd row seat to figure out where to drill the holes and she made the comment that she thinks the stock seat would look better. Sooooo she made the offer to recover the seat and door panels! Now we've been married for 6 years and this is the first time she has ever taken an interest in any of my projects be it a car or the Harleys. I ordered a new foam for the bottom but she didn't want new covers cause she's gonna make em. She used to do this kind of thing years ago although I've never seen any of her work. Any tips for making them? Something I could kinda suggest that would make it go ok? I'm a little nervous on how they will turn out but how could I say no? The fact she's interested ROCKS!
