Leaking power steering fluid, pump or power unit?

If my power steering resevoir is always empty and pink fluid is on the floor, i get the whining sound when i steer at low speeds and the tranny pan is always wet is it the pump (resevoir) or the power steering unit itself? If either, then is it best to replace the whole system or just the one unit thats leaking. Or is there a gasket seal kit for it and is it best to re-build? if all fails wheres the best place to buy the GM factory unit?

If its the pump, replace the pump you can even keep your resevoir sa long as its not cracked. If its the steering box replace it you dont want to mess with trying to rebuild a box.

Clean all the lines with a good brake cleaner and rag, also clean around the pitman arm shaft and steering shaft.start the engine, put a peice of cardboard under the truck and watch for the leak. Look at the cardboard for drips take a flashlight and point it straight up from the drip and you may find it.
