Front leaf spring question

Help, I don't want to go backwards.
My 80 GMC 3/4 ton came with springs that are 2- 1/2" wide at the ends, then widens right away to just shy of 3", and have 3 leafs.

I picked up a used set that have 4" lift (only 2 leafs) but are only 2 -1/2" wide the full length.

Was told they are aftermarket for blasers, 1/2 and 3/4 tons?

My perch's are 2- 3/4" wide and my u-bolts are set up for 3".

Should I use'um? Will they be too soft? Will they stay positioned in the u-bolts properly?

Help!!!
In colorado

Re: Front leaf spring question

do NOT reuse your old u-bolts... bad idea
don't worry about the width.
try to find out what springs they are, cuz i'd question them only having 2 leafs.

I would have to agree since my blazers suspension is stock and the front springs only have 2 leafs. So they probably would not work to well for your 3/4 ton.

Re: Front leaf spring question

67-72 leaf springs are narrower is it possible that's what these are? I wish I had my truck here with me cause I'd measure my springs for ya to be sure.

Pretty sure 73 and up leaf springs are wider than 2- 1/2". That's why I wasn't able to use 'em on my '69 when I changed out the sagging stock springs.

The 73 front springs I used on my 70 are 3" wide and if I remember correctly, 73's are longer that 67-72's.
