Manual to auto(steering column)

A friend has a '72 with a 3 speed on the column and would like to put in a TH350 auto. He does not want a floor shifter. Does anyone make a conversion for this?(such as an aftermarket steering column, linkage, etc)

Any info would help and be appreciated

Re: Manual to auto(steering column)

Either find a Auto column from a truck or you can use one out of a van up to around 87'.Go ahead and get a tilt for the comfort.
