off to the body shop

Well I took my 60 to the body shop. It need just a little bit of body work, fill the 20+ holes that were used to mount the mirrors, bed hooks and the hood emblem holes ( it has a 1961 hood ). It will also get the rail caps smoothed. The "major" body work will be a crease on the right lower bed , the two doors were they hit the fender ( bad door stops) and the hood a few dings. Not to bad for an 46 yer old work truck.
That will be round one, I plan on getting rid of the tailgate chains latter, and then decide what color to paint it, Stay tuned for some pics.

Re: off to the body shop

Thats cool man....I am almost done with what I'm doing with mine. Basically mine is in black primer, with a white top, with a red dash and wheels. Going with the rat-rod look.

Oh...I finally got some gansta white-walls !!! Rich found a local supplier...brand new G-78's for $100 a piece !!! Can't beat that. He had his boy mount them up for me yesterday...Dam they look so SICK !!!! With the red wheel they look bad ass !!! The frick'n whitewall is huge !!! I don't even want to drive on them....

I get some pics soon.....

What color are you going with ??

Take care....

Re: off to the body shop

Nice !!!! I 'll have to hit Rich Up too. I'm tossed between a few colors, Black chery/white top, silver / black top, black /silver top, all sliver, red white top.
But I dig that rat rod look. I have stock steels, painted resd with ford dog dish caps I added a bullet on them looks cool , and trim rings.
My truck will be built on a buddget so I cant go all out

Re: off to the body shop

I hear you on the budget thing....I kept mine on a low budget sinde the beginning. I'm just keeping it black primer for now, with a white top. The whole thing was rattle canned, but because it was primer...(and I'm pretty good with a can) , you can't even tell. It will eventually be bodyworked, and reprimered.

You have some good choices of colors...the silver with a black top would be real cool.

I just painted the very top white (above the rail)...but I think stock was the whole section above the door and around the windshield. Not sure if I'm gonna like that. There a thread here with that nice black one. I might just do the back half of the cab.

Anyway, I mentioned to Rich about the "boxing Burrito"....he was Laughin !!! He's like "he was my boy back in day !!!"

Give him a call sometime....I'm sure you know where he's at....295-0930 is the SM.

OH, BTW do you where I can get some of those small trim rings ??

Re: off to the body shop

too funny !! I got the trim rings at david rally wheels on Alum Rock.
So I went to the swap meet late ont Sat. picked up a rear bumper (100.00), and some other stuff. I get home an found out they gave ne one for a 63-66.
Called up the guy, and said no prob, bring it back Sunday and I'll swap it. I was there at 7:30 am paid another 8 bucks for parking, and 12.00 to get in.
We swap bumpers and the guy tells me , Sorry you had to come back , how about if I sell you a front one for 80.00 to make up for the entrance fee? . Sure why not. Moral of the story " Make sure you get the right stuff"
Cant wait to see pics of the Gansta's !!!
