trans and xfer case

hey there, i have a couple q's for everyone. yesterday i screwed up my trans or transfer case.. its now making a tick tick in every gear, except neutral.. so im pulling out the trans and xfer case for a rebuild. Im thinking of doing the trans myself, but the xfer case is another story.. i have a sm465 trans mated to a rockwell t221 xfer case, and i hear the rebuild of the rockwell is very labor intensive and having somebody else do it would cost me around $450 in labor + parts if they can get them, for the xfer case alone.. so what should i do, get a np205 xfer case? if so what will i need to do to the 465 to mate it to the 205. anyhelp will be greatly appreciated. (maybe this should go in the 4x4 section, if so sorry about the screwup)
