What would I do with the tailgate ? Yep it needs a new one, but if the middle between the chome strips was white, (assuming I had the trim) do you do orange or black letters ? Did all of them with the white stripe originally have the wood grain panel ?

Also, I have a tailgate I could use that does not have the bottom trim holes, could I just leave the bottom chrome off and paint the lower half all white, or should it have a litte orange under a bottom trim ?

Open for comments good or bad, what do you think ? Thanks

please correct me if i am wrong but i believe that if it had a two tone paint with the center strip it and trim it had the trim that ran across where the latch it and then the larger trim piece was below where the letters are and the trim had the letters in it... but i may be wrong

Not all trucks with the white stripe had the woodgrain panel. My K10 has the white stripe and the letters were painted green when I got it but I added the woodgrain to it.

Stock, as on my orange and white the letters were painted in the orange body color. Here is a poor picture of the gate off my orange and white. The orange and white is a 72 custom 10 deluxe. The real top of the line ones got the tailgate band with letters.
