Re: Lowering leaf springs??
brothers sells monoleafs for 67-72 trucks, pretty pricey, dont know much about them, i think they are like 4 or 5 inches of drop...drop shackles would be much cheaper, but im not sure if anyone makes them for these trucks, i know they make them for 73 and up trucks, a flip kit would also be a way to drop it, little more complicated, and more than just a bolt on though...

Not sure if axle is on bottom or top of spring but I think you can use an axle flip kit. which puts the axle on top of the spring. not sure of the drop but would say maybe 5".

Tim Christian is probably the man to ask. His GMC is on down there. I don't know his user ID off the top of my head. Tim is also a vendor on the board and an all around great guy!

Re: Lowering leaf springs??
air ride technologies makes a kit called "airoverleaf". you take out all but one leaf and then put a bag on top of the leaf and adjust your ride height. it is a few hundred $$. or you could track down some trailing arms and convert to coil rear. but the cheapest way is to pull one or two leafs out of your leaf pack and that will drop you an inch or two. that is what my dad and I did to his 3/4t, he had to buy new u bolts but those are cheap.

Re: Lowering leaf springs??
Early Classic Enterprises has them. I have them on my GMC and they lowered it more than I had planned on. They are multileafs like the factory ones.

Re: Lowering leaf springs??
Can you guys post some pics with what ever lowering choices you made on your leaf-spring trucks? Also, with the leafsprings, will it change the back spacing required on wheels because of the leafs?

Re: Lowering leaf springs??
Hey I had one that sat pretty low, probablly got a 5" drop from flipping the axle. This is probably the cheapest way tp go. look around for perches and U bolts. you most likely can make your own kit. And alot cheaper.

Re: Lowering leaf springs??
2" lowering shackles, 2-1/4" dearching of springs. Notched cross support on bed since bumps caused spings to hit. Stock back spacing with 275 / 45 / 20's

Re: Lowering leaf springs??
I'd also like to see some. Can anyone post before and after pics of an axle flip in the rear and cut coils and spindles in front?
