Question A Few Slow Progress Pics - and a Dumb Question - Heater Box?

I got a little done on the K-10 today

Got the 250 that is going to go in it all cleaned up - ran out of orange paint so I painted the intake black. Gonna leave the exh. manifold rusty - cause mainfold paint will burn off it unless i sand balst it & i really done feel like doing that

Got my seat back from the "seat guy" - turned out really nice actually. It's just a work truck and I don't need anything fancy - but I was very happy with the way it turned out - it's a greyish/bluish - more grey color

ok so now for the stupid question.
My truck originally had A/C - is doesn't work and that big heater box is under the hood taking up space & I took it out - cause a friendly little mouse made a house in it.
will a regular "Non-A/C" Heater Box fit??? - I'm assuming that you have to change the under dash unit too as the heater core location is different.

Thanks,
Andy

Andy, for years I've been painting over rust on my manifolds with Eastwoods stainless steel coating and it has held up really well. I just did my M/C with it too, I even spilled brake fluid on it with no effect. Maybe you could look into this product as a quick fix, no sand blasting JMHO
I'll take pics if you want to see it!

yeh I'm still too lazy to do it
I just want to get the truck running and back on the road.
I'll eventually put a V8 back in the truck or end up selling it

Anybody know about the heater box?

Dupli-Color Chevy Orange/Red from Wal-Mart
At least I'll be able to find all the leaks

The holes on the firewall are different for a/c and non-a/c. There's a place that makes an a/c delete panel, americangraffiti.biz.

Re: A Few Slow Progress Pics - and a Dumb Question - Heater Box?

As far as the outside box, yes it will cover the dash holes but you need to fix them so the heater will perform as it should. The holes for mounting the BIG BLACK BOX are the same I'm pretty sure. You may have to redrill a mounting hole or two it's been some time since I did it. I did the oppisite of you and added air to mine. You can use all of your inside stuff to I think. All you want to do is change the outer peice. There again it's been awhile.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
