Hi Guys...

Considering a 4" lift kit, wondering what the final ride height will be on a 72 K10 LWB Chevy. I see "stock" trucks that vary by 2" - 4" in ride height, so I'm wondering if anyone has any measurements as to the final height *after* a lift.

In other words... does the 4" apply to the original height when new, or to the 34-yr old sagged suspension that most stockers have by now? I'm thinking that there is so much variation in these trucks that what is sold as a 4" lift might give me anywhere from 2 to 6 inches in reality... and I don't want to spend the time and effort to get a too low or too high lift.

Most quote lift numbers based against stock *new* height. Yes there was variation from the factory, but most of what you will see will be against your old worn/sagged springs.

Depening on how sagged your stuff is, you might net 6" from just the 4" kit.

OK sorry about that but seriously.

Tires are 33x12.50

24" from the front license plate to the shop floor

22" from the rocker panel to the shop floor

22" from the rear license plate to the shop floor

5" from the front bumpstop to the spring plate on the front axle

Nice truck! ToTM I see... very nice.

4" w/33's is the combo I'm looking at as well.

How's the driveability / entrance & exit / parking with that setup?

Measurements indeed very helpful, makes me wonder if we could get a survey of truck heights vs. lift kit claims to see what the average kits really do.

I think it's very driveable, I just drove it on a 600 mile trip about 2 weeks ago.

My tires are Mickey Thompson radial claws.

This is my green/white 71 K20. 4" Skyjacker with 35" BFGs.

For everyday driving/using a 4" lift w/33's seems to work well.
There's still a 'hop in' factor but it's not so bad.
33's will typically balance out well too.

Do a quality 'all spring' lift w/good shocks and I bet you'll be happy with it.

I've driven my blazer for hours on the interstate with out feeling beat up when I got there.
4" E-Z ride all spring lift is what I installed on it.
(2nd pic is prior to adding trim obviously)
