Feeling Bad Vibrations

My 72 SWB has a vibrations problem at 65mph and up the faster i go the worse it gets, feels like its comin from the front end. I had the wheels balanced, didn't change, should i look into an alignment? Mabye a driveshaft balance, even though it shouldn't because its a one piece, unless its bent or somethin?

Check your tires carefully for knots or bumps or other irregularities.

Re: Feeling Bad Vibrations

alignments are good as are non worn suspension pieces

motor mounts tranny mount u joints cracked flexplate or loose torque converter can all be the cause of vibrations

Could it be wheel bearings?

Re: Feeling Bad Vibrations

Just went through the same thing and after a new driveshaft with no effect I decided to change out the tranny. (It really needed the 700r4 anyways). Got rid of the vibration but I really think the original problem was due to a bad rear tranny mount. Wasn't much left of it when I took out the TH400. Check the simple stuff first..!!!

Re: Feeling Bad Vibrations

check the mounts definatly but if they are good check the rotors for warpage and if its 4wd check the hubs see if they arent sticking when they dont need to be.
