Power steering

Hey guy's, when converting manual steering to power steering, is it true all i need is the adapter plate and any newer set-up of a 2 wd chevy truck to go on my 62, pitman arm and all should work just fine? Thanks

I think you also need to replace the pitman arm and also shorten the lower steering column shaft.

This has been covered many times on the board. I know on a '64, all you need is a steering box, hoses, and pump from a later model truck. Don't need to change the pitman arm. I got it off a '85 truck. It can be done with or without a bracket. I did. But a bracket makes it easier. Yes you have to make the steering shaft shorter. Best $160.00 i've spent on my truck.
