Re: Few more pics project "Rock-a-Billy"....

Some one mutilated the dash for a radio...then made a plate to cover the horror.....I had no choice, so for now I painted the ghetto plate as well.

Also above the dash...more mutilation was done to mount a stupid ass speaker....I painted the dam speaker black and let it in there for now to cover.

Someone took a drill....drilled a million holes, then broke the metal away for the speaker and radio !!! This crap pisses me off !!!!

Also notice the headlights are on...my battery went dead that day. That custom big ass button to the right there...that's for the air-horns...It came like that so I left...like I said before its

The previous owner(s) had an issue with the column, so they ran one of those strap on "signal-stat" turn-signal switches...with built in Hazards !!

Actually work good !!

The dash is rattle can...came out pretty darn good though...some one actually thought it was sprayed !!

It runs good...it has a Kragen 350 in it...2 BRL carb..and a 3-speed. I found a receipt for the motor...dated 96...Not sure of the mileage.

Anyway....thats it for now....

Later

John

That's a Hurst Indy Universal shifter.....It works great !! Shifts extremely smooth.

Someone else removed the shifter from the tree, and rigged one on the floor. It was in bad shape, kept jamming...so I had to replace it. That's another hack job that I have to fix. Theres a huge hole in the floor around the shifter. Gonna have to fab some sheetmetal and build in that hole before the cover plate and boot can go on.

Your truck is looking sweet, I'm redoing my 65. I'm going with orange & John Deere Blitz black, where did you get fat walls? Did you do anything to your bed inside.

Hey, hey, hey, you stole my idea. I'm doing the same combo. The inside of the bed, the cab and engine compartment will be orange and everything else Blitz Black (which I have sitting in the garage). If I use the steelies, they will be orange but I would like to find a set of slot mags or maybe some 4x4 rally style or ???

I got the Gansta white from my buddy's speed shop. He gave me a killer deal.

I like that idea of the "insides" a color, and the rest black.

I had the whole inside red, but the paint was working like I wanted it, so I went black, and left the dash red.

So whats Blitz black ??

Thats a really good color combo. There's an old Ford wagon....roll'n around with orange interior (door posts, window frames, dash, etc.)...black primer sealer body, and orange wheels with the small trim rings....It looks way cool !!!.....THATS WHAT I NEED...

THE SKINNY TRIM RINGS !!! Does anyone know where I can get those ?!?!?

You know what I'm talking about, not the Kragen big ass rings, just the small ones that fit the inside lip of the wheel. Let me know...

Thanks again to everyone on the props !!!!

I never thought it would get such a responce !!!

They talk about the Blitz Black on hotrodder's.com , at $25 a gallon worth a try. I've read on for about a month, it has more good reviews than bad. I'll post some picture when I paint my 65 C10.

Nov 24,25, and 26th are half price days at Pick and Pull.. You can go in there with a battery powered sawsall and cut the section of dash you need to repair yours. You can usually find alot of 60-63 chevy trucks there they are usually just all rusted out but have dash's in them... Also might as well go just because it is half off..

More pics soon....I've been driving it lately back and forth to work....instead of driving my nice new '06 F-350 6.0....now thats dedication !

I'll try Pic'n'Pull...matter of fact there is one there at the Monterey location....I think the dash was ok.

What is the radio location supposed to look like stock ?? Is it set-up for a two knob AM radio or something ??

Thank guys

ChiefRocka... You wont be able to get JDBB in Cali. I had to get it during one of my vegas trips. There was a tractor shop up there that carries it. Got 2 gallons and hardener.
