Cst?

Did CHEVY make a 1969 custom camper CST with a 396,TH400,PS,PDB,A/C? I just bought this truck for 750.00 from a guy here and this is what it has. Also, how hard is it to locate the brackets and pulleys(all of them) for this truck?

Re: Cst?

Any big block pulleys and brackets bring a premium do to the lower production numbers. They are not rare, just not as common as the small block thus the higher price. Post what you want and this board will probably have it --no problem.

Re: Cst?

the disc brakes you mention are not original, it woulda come with drums. Otherwise, yes, your 69 CST coulda come equipped as you describe it.
Get ready to cry when you go to price the pullies that you need.

Re: Cst?

Well hopefully today I get my 69 delivered.Istopped by and looked at it and yes it does have power DRUM brakes,I thought they were disc. From what I can tell there isnt any rust in the cab or the bed,has a 396-th400 a/c,p/s,power drums,no tach.the emblem on the glove box door says CST,but thats the only place on the truck it says that.Could this really be a CST? It is a 3/4 ton 2wd custom camper 20. Tomorrow I'll try to post pics.

The 69 CST also come with body moldings. Glovebox but also in front fenders should got the letters:CST, it should have chromes bumpers and may comes with sliding back window (mine has one).

Re: Cst?

If it's a custom camper, it will say CustomCamper/20 on the fenders rather than CST/20. I had a 71 cheyenne custom camper and it had customcamper emblems rather than cheyenne. It sounds like a well loaded original cst.

Re: Cst?

Thanks guys.I havent been able to get it home yet.The tow truck I was going to use broke down before he could get here.So now I have to wait until he gets it fixed. The sucky part about this is that its only 8 miles away. Also have to pick up my 68 1/2t today.(big back window,327-th400,p/s,a/c,p/b, longbed w/leafs.) Will try to post pics of both trucks when I get them home.

Re: Cst?

8 miles? Can you use a chain... or a tow bar maybe? FYI, the 68, you mentioned big back window...they all were big in 68.
