Hood latch modification for Billet Grille?

How are you guys rigging up the hood latch when you do the billet grille?

The way I did mine is took a 3/8 rod ran it straight to the bumper from the latch that normally opens the hood. Put a brace in the center of the brace in front of the radiator to hold it centered. To open the hood Simply take your foot and push up on the rod. Hope this helps . Email if you don't understand.

Someone posted a pic about a year ago of a latch using a rod as described above. Also, a couple of members have used a remote latch from JC Whitney that lets you release the hood from inside the cab. Hope this helps, LB.
