Front and rear disc brakes conversion questions

Hello All! Here is my cituation. I bought a set of wheels with 5x4 3/4 bolt pattern. I have decided to upgrade my brakes and would like a 12" or larger front disc brakes and a similiar size rear disc brakes. I already bought a set of drop spindels for my truck so i am not sure if that matters. I don't know brakes and have been trying to do my homework but all of the threads on brake conversions were for 5x5 bolt pattern. I understand that i can have them redrilled but wasn't sure if i can skip that step and just buy a set already made for 5x4 3/4 bolt pattern that fit my spindel. I don't want to spend more than 500-600 if possible. Also i don't mind fabing up a bracket for the caliper. I would like to have some corvettle calipers if possible. I like the writing on the side saying Corvette. I know it is stupid but think it would look sweet. Thanks Josh

Re: Front and rear disc brakes conversion questions

I was looking at ebay. Does anyone know if a corvette caliper will work on any other rotor besides just a corvette rotor? I was looking at a 68 camaro rotors and was thinking i might be able to put the corvette calipers on it? It will have the correct bolt pattern i need. Sorry for my ignorance on brakes. thanks Josh

Re: Front and rear disc brakes conversion questions

cpp sells a 5x4 3/4 12" direct replace ment rotor, that'll take care of the front.... the rear just get a pair of replacement axles for that pattern ( any manufacture will make them to your spec)

Re: Front and rear disc brakes conversion questions

Is that rotor for a camaro or something else with the bolt pattern? Will that work with my spindel?

Thanks Josh

Re: Front and rear disc brakes conversion questions

I found the kit you are talking about. Thanks. I was wondering if calipers are interchangable? I would like to have more than single piston caliper. Maybe a dual piston or 4 piston caliper. Thanks Josh
