turbo 400 install questions

hey guys i got a 1971 c10 with a sbc and 350 turbo tranny. i want to install a new sbc with a 400 turbo. is the cross member the same ? what about the shift linkage ? i,d say the drive shaft has the be modified too right ?
any help would be appreciated before i dissasemble the truck.

The crossmember will be the same and so will the shift linkage. The driveshaft is different, its shorter if i remember right.

You'll have to move the crossmember back, there should be holes if the engine is located properly...you may have to rework your exhaust too if it is a custom job.

E-brakes might not be important to you but the TH 400 cross member has an E-brake cable bracket attached to it for routing the cable. The attached mockup pic shows the bracket.
