what to do?

Well im 19 yrs old and im about 90% done with my first resto, problem is i recently ran into some trouble and now need to come up with alot of money quick. To me selling the truck isnt an option. the contractor across the street wants it real bad and is offering me a good deal. What would ya'll do? one more thing, i cant count the times i've heard i wish i still had that truck....and i dont want to be saying that 10 yrs down the road.
Thanks travis

Re: what to do?

can you enlighten us on why you need the money?
Some things are more important than a stupid truck.

I can't think of any examples right now... but i'm sure there are good reasons to sell.

Re: what to do?

Maybe one of those "give a loan at a retardedly high interest rate" places could help you out. They suck, but can give $$ fast and aren't too bad if you dedicate your self to paying it off asap. I used to work at one and we would lend $$ to anyone with a job and a pulse.

Cheaper to stay in jail than pay the bail. Besides, they'll give you free room and board AND cable TV!

Re: what to do?

Brad just about hit the nail on the head. Not neccasairly to keep myself out of jail, just lawyers are just a bit on the expensive side. I cant decide what to do, i always said Id never sale her, especially after all the work Ive already put into her. I can see the reasonable thing to do would be to sell, but then again Ive never very reasonable

Re: what to do?

Loan some money against the truck. That will get you out of trouble and motivate you to pay it off quickly so you can get your title back.

Re: what to do?

I don't know how TX works, but in Oregon court costs and fees come out of the security deposit and if you don't show for your arraignment-they keep it. However, you do everything you're supposed to do and end up not owing anything, you'll get 85% of the security deposit back about 2 months later after the final disposition. 15% is kept for court fees.

Sounds like you need to take care of business before anything else. There are lot's of these trucks around and you can rack this up as a learning lesson. Hopefully it's not a felony, otherwise plead down and do your jail and/or probation time and don't do anymore stupid things.

Re: what to do?

Without turning this in to a For Sale or What's it Worth thread can you give us an idea of the value of the truck? If selling it would get a finincial and mental burden off of you then sell it and move on. There are always other trucks out there.

BTW- Was this truck listed on Austin Craigs list?

Re: what to do?

here's what i'd try weather it's possible or not is another story.....have your truck apraised and get a standard auto loan from the bank using your truck as collateral. ondrew

Re: what to do?

yes it was listed on craigs list, thats where i found it. i drove it for a little under half a year and then decided to start on the resto. in texas i'll be paying around 100 in court fees plus the fines and to the best of my knowledge i dont get any of it back. its got a new 350/th 350 with new brakes, wheels and tires, flat black primed right now with a red interior. all new autometer gauges, custom upholstered escalde seats, new wiring and the list goes on. Im not sure what it"s actually worth but the sentimental value to me is way more than what its worth. lol

Re: what to do?

I have been in tight spots and had to sell. My last was I needed to fix my truck, so I sold my dirt bike.

It sucks to have to sell stuff, but when it comes down to business, as others have said, there are other trucks.
