Custom Interiors

Hi, I'm pretty new to this site... I've read alot, but just never really posted... Well, I'm in the U.S. Army and am selling my baby (1972 Chevy) But I'm in the process of restoring a 1971 Short Bed and am going to customize my interior and leave the exterior stock except for the bags and torque thrust rims. I'm going to leave all the moldings and badges and door handles, along with the tail gate band. I'm interested in seeing some of your customized interiors!! I'm trying to get a good idea of what I want to do. I have a buddy who is an Apache Helicopter mechanic who can lay down all of the fiberglass and custom work for the dash. Thanks!

Re: Custom Interiors

I posted those pics a few months ago. I thought that was the nicest upholstery i have ever seen. Someone said that it looks like an early corvette dash. I am going to be trying to do something like this when i get to that stage. Good luck with your truck!!!

Re: Custom Interiors

well i'm usualy not a bucket seat kind of gut but the pitures above look really sharp. the interior looks really sharp, modern yet retains enough old school to look right in the truck.
kudos to whom ever put it together.

it's easier to stomp on the throttle in a bench seat! and i hide a nice 12 inch subwoofer behind it too.

Re: Custom Interiors

I saw that truck at SEMA as well and it's not very often that I see a FULL custom interior change that works that well......fricken beautiful. In my opinion the interior shows up the exterior. Just seems to me the trucks paint scheme and stance didn't quite go with the outstanding interior redo.

Re: Custom Interiors

I could be wrong, but it looks like Lincoln seats to me. Like out of a Navigator. Nice seats, but I wouldn't put a Ford product in my Chevy.

I am doing custom door panels and kick panels, but my dash will remain stock for the most part. I might be cutting the center out of my dash because I think the in-dash monitor I got will hit when extended (it will be here in a few days and I'll find out then).

I'll be running something like these at some point.

Re: Custom Interiors

Honda doesn't make seats like that. Very lincoln like without the headrest. My stab would be 10k.

Re: Custom Interiors

wow, i stand corrected, but i must point out the "heavily modified" part

hey did classic trucks ever explain the signifigance of that homely blond they kept using for their featured trucks? Was she the girlfriend or daughter of one of the editors or what?

Re: Custom Interiors

So why the Lincoln badge then? I still say they look like Lincoln Navigator seats

When my brothers pan head springer was featured in Iron Horse magazine, they listed it as having a Triumph motor (they got the specs of his bike and another swapped in that issue).

Re: Custom Interiors

Funny thing is, I had Honda CRX seats in my '70 Cuda Honda makes a very nice seat and they can be had for cheap. The CRX seats were $250 inclluding custom cloth recovering to match my interior.

I would like to do my door panels like that for sure.
