Overdrive Transmission

I'm running a 70 411 rear, and have 3 choices. Change the rear, go to overdrive, or get a part-time job to pay the gas. What tranny will swap with the least amount of effort? TF

I'm in the same position

I also have a '72 Heavy Chevy and i have the 3 speed hydro with the 4.11's. I get about 10 to 11 with my 350. I do a LOT of pulling with mine, but i still need to get a little better gas millage. 15 would be great!

thanks

The tranny has a 6" tailpiece. That's measured from oil leak to oil leak. TF

Talking

In order to change to a over drive you would need to modify the drive shaft. I will do some measuring and get back with you.
