One way to install universal windshield washer pump
This comes from some electrical help from Putter. Thanks Putter
This installation will allow the wiper switch (when depressed) to squirt the fluid. 1. New circuit for water flow a. Install pump to fender ahead of the reservoir or your own chosen location. b. Attach tubing from reservoir to suction on pump. c. Cut old tubing at firewall. d. Extend back the squirter tubing in your hand and cut to equal length (long enough to meet in the middle.) Be careful to not tug too hard and pull them off the squirters. e. Attach squirter tubing to new T (comes with universal pump) and attached new hose (6 ft – 4.99 at checkers) to third leg of the new T. f. Run new tubing down the guide to the side of the truck and forward. Attach it to the output of the pump2. New electrical circuit so your pump will pump when you depress the stock switch. a. Attach two wires to pump wire with approved electrical connection procedures. i. I used 7 feet each of 18 gage yellow (power) and dark blue (ground) b. Run them into the cab c. Remove gage panel. i. http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=164357 d. Tap onto the YELLOW wire at the wiper motor. It is switched. i. Use Yellow wire running to the cab from under the hood for connection. e. Tap into the dark blue (ground) wire at the wiper switch. 3. Test prior to reassembly.i. Use Dark Blue wire running to the cab from under the hood for connection. 4. Reassemble everything you disassembled. The three pics below are 1. The tee under the hood near the cowl. 2. The pump motor location and routing of wires and hoses (5/32) 3. The electrical taps at the wiper motor and the switch.

Re: One way to install universal windshield washer pump
or you could get a washer bottle/pump assembly for a motorhome and bolt it to the back of the rad support. mine holds a full gallon and sprays quite nicely. my next change is to install squirters from a early 90s F150 on the cowl.

Yes exactly...that is my next move.
This will hold me through the winter. I need to get rid of that voltage regulator first...CS130 alternator coming this winter to a truck near me. Tim

Re: One way to install universal windshield washer pump
Nice work....I am ready to do this same thing with the same exact replacement pump.
Is there something wrong with installing the pump with the intake outlet pointed upwards? |

Where/what kind of pump did you end up using?
