AM/FM Radio ID needed...
I know this isn't original but can anyone narrow down a year or make? I pulled it out of a 68 C-30 Wrecker at the junkyard today. It flips the legend when you switch from AM to FM . It doesn't fit our trucks 2.75x4.75 = too big. The wrecker must have had the dash cut. Only $5 though! THanks....
UPDATE: sweet mama!! Radio was from a 69 Camaro, keep your eyes out, it has the angled heat sinks fins, not square. It sold for $380 + shipping. Guy paid me with 1 minute after the auction. I had over 30 people watching the auction and the price jumped $100 in the last 15 seconds! Not bad for an afternoon with the buds junkyard hunting, and only spending $5!!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3884873&rd=1,1 ANOTHER UPDATE: I found another at Carlisle!!! Paid $10 for this one...let's see how high it goes... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...2874&rd=1&rd=1 Last edited by msgross; 04-23-2007 at 11:33 PM. |

Re: AM/FM Radio ID needed...
Check what a 69 AM-FM is selling for here. Might be worth alot more if it were cleaned up.

Re: AM/FM Radio ID needed...
HOLY $HIT - $850 for a refurbished AM/FM! Maybe I will break out the baby wipes and clean it up a bit first. Maybe that website wants to buy it instead of Ebay...
Chevy Fatman: mostly saw 65-66 Impalas, one convertable. Are you in PA? We hit 4 yards today, found a guy with a lot of Baracudas that my buddy is working on. Shop was closed so we have to go back next week. I'll keep my eye out for one though. |

Re: AM/FM Radio ID needed...
Just put it on Ebay and within 1 hour was offered $250 for it. Guy also states that he has a 72 AM/FM and may trade...hmmm cash or truck radio? All I have is a non-working AM in mine. Guy restores them for 200 and resales them for 800-1000 bucks! makes our AM/FM's look cheap...

Re: AM/FM Radio ID needed...
I can't complain though...it ended up in this nice 69 el camino, and I was sent a pic of it installed and it worked fine.
It was given a happier life than sitting on my shelf for a few years.

Re: AM/FM Radio ID needed...
were the back heat sink fins angled or square? I guess the angled one's are worth a bit more. i feel greedy by turning down 3 bills for it. It was only online for 2 hours though. I will probably lose out knowing my luck, oh well...i upped the reserve to 275 now.

Re: AM/FM Radio ID needed...
If I was you either take the money and run or the 72 am/fm. Depends on what I want more would decide that. Great find though. Hope you make out well with the radio.

Re: AM/FM Radio ID needed...
Mine were squared fins..but you can look on ebay and see people who admit they altered the fins to fit a 69. The buyer said he got it in there without making any alterations to the fins and this one (69 el camino) had AC too.
$300 would have been fine with me..I'll see if I can find your radio on ebay. |

Re: AM/FM Radio ID needed...
I thought about going back to the guy that offered 300 + shipping, might as well see if it makes reserve now. 18 people watching it so it could get exciting.

Were the 65-66 impalas for sale? How much do you think one would go for?

I would have to get the address off of my buddy, everything in the guys yard looked pretty rough from what we could see. I hope that 16 watchers aren't board members! It's up to $231 with 2 days left and every bidders have been different. I just received another email asking for a BUY IT NOW price....

Re: AM/FM Radio ID needed...
just got offered $350 to sell it early, am I dumb to turn it down? There are 21 people watching the auction so I think it will get into the 300's. I don't care if I lose a little since I only paid $5....
