Evaporator Housing
how do you get the old dull dirty evap housing to look brand new?, can you polish it or what brings it back to look new?

If you're talking about the one for the AC I hope you have it out.Any AC or industrial supply house will have a cleaner(acid) that will clean it up.You don't want to use it in the truck since it will eat paint.They use it on home AC units all the time.Usually sold in spray cans and in bulk to be sprayed thru a spray bottle.It will clean the unit but not make it shiny just a dull aluminum color.

I used some thinner to clean mine and decided to paint it instead. It looked ok after the cleaning, but way better after some semi-gloss black paint.

I used soap and water then clear coated mine when I was rebuilding the A/C system.
   Also had the inside metal parts powder-coated.
