Arrow matching radiator & shroud

I was fitting up some parts this afternoon and came across this.
I have a 4 row radiator and a small block shroud. The wider tanks of the 4 row rad hold the shroud off by about 3/4" from the mounting points. Looking online at Brothers site it lists V8 w/out air, V8 with air and big block shrouds. It doesn't ask for rad size. Is there somewhere else to look for a shroud to fit my rad? I'm not ready to go with electrics yet.

Re: matching radiator & shroud

I have the same issue, I used heavy-duty zip ties (and I check them regularly) until I get an answer.

Re: matching radiator & shroud

I ran into the same thing as well. I used a row of washers temporarily and got longer sheetmetal screws to hold the shroud on. When I get time I'll get a piece of aluminum tubing and cut it down and use it as a sleeve washer. I think it'll look a lot better and that way you can still tighten down the shroud w/o it wanting to buckle on you.

Re: matching radiator & shroud

Looking around at under hood pics on this board I see several different types of shrouds being used. I think the shroud I have is for a 2 or 3 row rad. I need to see if I can find one for the 4 row. I'd like it to fit like it's supposed to.

Re: matching radiator & shroud

The mounting brackets are different for the 4-core rads, but the shrouds are the same for 2,3 & 4 row rads. Make sure you have the correct brackets, as they control the standoff of the shrouds.

Re: matching radiator & shroud

Well I think I have the correct parts. I bought them for a 4 row rad from my local Chev dealer. They fit the big tanks ok. The used shroud I have here is one a bud gave me from one of his parts trucks. I planned to use it temporarily. Maybe you can tell in the pics that it stands off the mounting tabs about 3/4 ".

Re: matching radiator & shroud

The problem is the aftermarket radiators. If you can find a OEM four row, I think everything will bolt together correctly. My pickup had a 4 row from the factory. When I replaced my radiator, I had to use spacers between the mounts and shroud.
