Axle Code

I was cleaning the rear of the truck today and was looking at the codes numbers I found on the rear axle. Is this the right code to look up to see what gears I have. The first two letters doesn't match anything that I have for the 69/70 model year

This code came off the passenger front side of the pumpkin housing

NF3896838

Thanks

Re: Axle Code

You need to get the #'s off the front passenger side axle tube, that will tell you everything, including date and gear code

Re: Axle Code

Yep , your going to have to get a little dirty. A wire brush should do if it hasn't been re-painted. If you slide in front of the passenger rear tire, it will be around the middle of the tube.
