What kind of lockouts to use

After I sandblast the 2 dana 44's on the 71 swb K10 I am going to rebuild them and I was wondering what kind of lockouts to use.I was thinking about some WARN lockouts for it.So my question is,what kind of lockouts are you guys running on your trucks? The truck will be mostly a on road truck occasionally off the road and in the mud.No heavy wheeling. To let you know what kind of truck it is I will show a pic, well its not done yet but it someday will be done..

Re: What kind of lockouts to use

I've got superwinch hubs on mine. It has metal dials like a warn, but without the jacketed outer hub, mine are solid. The internal parts are pretty beefy too. A lot more beef than the spicer junk I took out of mine. Work smooth the cold or muck.

I have always used Warns but there are others that are good too.

I just installed a set of superwinch hubs on my 86 blazer.

I'd let you have them but I already gave them away.

Re: What kind of lockouts to use

I'm gonna have a few sets next week, two will be for sale. I have a good set of Mile Marker, a set of Superwinch (unseen), and my original off of my 68. Let me know if interested. I will also have a raised steering arm for a lifted Dana 44 chevy and a set of 3/4 ton hubs. I know the wasn't a WTB thread but maybe someone is interested. I will post a for sale ad when I get the 3rd set this weekend.

Re: What kind of lockouts to use

I like the old Warn Lock-O-Matics. The only problem with them is finding a good set and parts availability as they haven't been made for at least 15 years - maybe longer. I found a set at a wrecking yard for $3.00 but I've seen them sell on eBay for $75+ when you can find them. Warn didn't make very many of them. I think International Harvester got most of them as they were optional equipment from the factory.
