drum vs. disc mc id?
How do you tell the difference between the two?

I thought they were the same, its the proportioning valve that is different. Please excuse me if I'm worng, but the one I pulled out and the one I installed looked the same to me (drum/drum removed, disc/drum installed).

discs require much more fluid to compinsate for the adjustment that is done through hydraulics instead of a mechanical adjuster.
The general automotive rule is that the disk master will have much higher line pressure, but these trucks don't always follow general brake rules, one they don't follow is that the P/N for a power brake master is not the same as amanual master cylinder...the trucks use the same master for either aplication. |
