Throttle sticking

I took the 68 for a drive and I noticed that the throttle is sticking. I checked the gas pedal hinge on the firewall and that is not binding up. I checked on the throttle linkage (not sure if that is its name see pic piece is colored in green) and without the throttle rod or springs it is sticking. I sprayed some carb cleaner in there but no luck. Any suggestions?

Re: Throttle sticking

What should I use to lubricate it? Also maybe hit it with some carb cleaner?

Re: Throttle sticking

hit with carb cleaner to clean first then either a silicone lube or i like white lithium grease in the spray// also in the cab where the pedal likage pivots and goes thru firewall

You say "without the throttle rod or springs it is sticking" so the sticking is narrowed down to the carb and not the throttle rod. Make sure the primary pump lever is not touching the air cleaner. I have had that happen. It will stick. Remove the air cleaner and work the throttle without the linkage or spring hooked up and see how it works. If it still sticks you may need to remove the carb and inspect the base gasket and manifold for contact. With carb removed work the throttle. Does it still stick?
Is this a reman'd carb?

Re: Throttle sticking

Well I disconnected the carb springs and throttle rod. With the carb still on the intake I gave it the throttle linkage (area in green) a good cleaning with carb cleaner. When I hooked up the throttle rod I noticed a slight catch. I extended the rod by 1 turn and it looks like that has fixed it.
