Can someone please send a picture showing where the little negative ground wire attaches, coming from the negative battery cable? I have a newer type cable that attaches to the side of the battery.Thank you

Re: pics please?neg battery cable ground wire

The 1972 GMCs were side post, and there wasn't a "little" wire on what looked like the stock ground cable. It runs from the side of the battery to the front of the passenger side cylinder head. There are ground straps from both valve covers to the firewall, and ground straps from the inner fenders to the frame. There are also ground straps in the back from the frame to the bed. They are all undoubtably original. There's very little on my '72..well there WAS very little on my '72 that wasn't either strictly an OEM part or a GM replacement part.

There should be a hole in the passenger fender, by the positive junction block. That is where the wire goes. It should be a weld nut and uses a bolt with a star washer. I will see if I can find a pic for you.
