Smile How rare is my 1972 GMC?

My truck was built in 1971 in Fremont CA,,but is a 1972 model GMC, Sierra Grande, custom Camper 3/4 ,super Cheyenne trim,402BB, Turbo 400,Factory A/C, PS,PB,sliding rear glass,Dana 60 rear end,front sway bar,66,000 origional miles.I was wondering how many of these GMC trucks were built in 72' and how rare is My model Truck?

there are no production numbers for the GMC trucks, all the records were lost.


Your truck sounds pretty well decked out.

I found a metal plate, resembles a dog tag, in my glove compartment with what i guess to be the original owners of my truck. An Orange grove farm. My truck was built in Freemont CA as well.

Its called a protecto-plate

:Mine was built in fremont and remaind in that area till 3 years ago when I brought it out here. I have all the original protecto plate and much the same original options as yours, BB 402, TH400, sway bar HD suspension, rear leafs, dana 60 with the power lock, custom camper , tinted glass, ect.
I offten wondered it it was rare as well, but that didnt stop me from cutting it up into what I wanted
