87 jimmy w/ 46000

I just got a 87 gmc jimmy with 46000 on the clock and all orgional. I put new shocks, tires, belts, wp, hoses, and oil change. I want to use it as a semi DD but fuel mileage is an issue. any suggestions on add ons for fuel mileage? I was thinking of ignition tune up and a tbi spacer. anything else I shoud do to lower the cost to drive and squeeze some more mpg out of her? My ladies grandpa purchased her new in 87 and had seat covers and extra canpets in since new so other than a dash the intior is like new so I want to keep her going for the memories but with gas prices i need some help. I will try to get pics later.

besides a tune up, not much. drive like you have an egg between your foot and the throttle. Keep tires inflated to the correct pressure. drive slower on the highway.

problem is you have a two ton truck with the shape of a barn door. it's not going to get stellar mileage. even in top state of tune.

Good point I will give here a tune up and just look for more gas money.
