Rear disk brake kit for sale

I am sadly selling this kit I was going to put on my own truck to fund repairing my blown up rear end. Oh well, enough whining, this is a setup with Impala SS components. It comes with everything you need except gear oil, I'm even including brake fluid. Here's the rundown.

USED Impala calipers I purchased from Burnsman
USED caliper brackets that were cleaned, painted, and slides greased
NEW 5x5 Raybestos Impala rotors, hats painted with high temp caliper paint
NEW laser cut axle brackets with new hardware from glock35ipsc
NEW braided flexable brake hose from Precision Brake, factory Impala Banjo bolt on caliper end, 3/16 inverted to AN on the other end, with new copper washers
Two NEW 30'' sections of brake line to replace the old ones running across the diff tubes
NEW Duralast Brake pads
USED factory Impala flex hose brackets and clips
NEW CPP disc/disc prop valve with lines and bracket

I'm letting this go for $300 plus shipping.

Re: Rear disk brake kit for sale

Nice, are those calipers set up for e-brake?

Re: Rear disk brake kit for sale

No, I'm sorry, I forgot to put that. They use the hat style e-brake with the shoes in the back of the rotor.

That's a hell of a deal, I wish I had a 5-lug rear.

Re: Rear disk brake kit for sale

I almost bought something like these calipers awhile back, but was told
they would not clear 15" wheels, can you confirm this claim either way?

Yes, they will clear a 15'' truck rally, I mocked this setup up in a spare wheel I have.

Re: Rear disk brake kit for sale

BTW, I'm also including a diff cover gasket and one axle seal. I only had one leaking. LUV, I have one person interested right now, if he backs out and you wanted this setup I could save you shipping, I'll be leaving for Symrna on the the 22nd. I could bring them with me.

Re: Rear disk brake kit for sale

The caprice / impalla e-brake was like a traditional drum brake, it
was inside the hub part of that rotor, and the cables went to it.

It comes without the e-brake. I think if you had Impala (SS or 9C1) e-brake backing plates and shoes you could probably modifiy it to fit on the truck housing end instead of using the bracket I have in my kit. I figured my truck is an auto, I never use the e-brake, I used it one time right after I got the truck to see if it worked, haven't used it since.

Re: Rear disk brake kit for sale

Dude, that 6-lug rear is just sittin outside the shop not being used. It's yours to use for however long you need it, all you got to do is come get it!!! Or I can bring it to you. I even have some 6-lug rallys you can use. It's 3.73 and has new (well, ~200 mile old) brakes, drums, and cylinders. At least it will get you back on the road.

No wonder I haven't seen your truck at your shop for the past week or so......

Re: Rear disk brake kit for sale

I appreciate the offer Bob, but I already have the new parts at the shop, $600 worth. I took my truck apart the Monday before Thanksgiving to do the brake swap when I found out the bolt had broken out of the cross shaft and it starting moving around and hogged out the carrier. Plus it was welded to one of the spider gears. I'll have to show you the mess when I get a chance. When I recover from the hit to the wallet I'll get another set of brackets from you and try again!

Re: Rear disk brake kit for sale

What rear are you running or were you running, I might have some parts ie. bearings ect. laying around if you need them. I also have 3.73s for a 10 bolt if that is what you have.

Damn those bolts!!! I still need to get one for mine. I'll set a set of brackets aside for you.

Re: Rear disk brake kit for sale

chevota- I do have all the parts I need, thanks. My buddy that works for Houska's in Fort Collins is setting them up. He was the rearend guy (that doesn't sound good) at Dellenbach Chevrolet for years and has always set up my gears.
jpkerley-I'm working with someone on them right now and there is someone else in line after that. If it all falls through to you I'll gladly deliver them. You do need to pull the axles to install.
Bob, stop by some time and check out what I had to do to get the cross shaft out!
