Son of a... Another stolen truck in the Seattle area

I hate this. My grandfather bought this truck brand new. I've technically owned it for 1 day.

It was taken from the Monroe Park-n-Ride while I was at work today.

If anybody sees this truck or runs across parts from the same, please call me any time on my cell at (425)232-8331.

As many details as I can think of off the top of my head: 1971 3/4T Chevy 4x4. 350/sm465/np205. White with black stripes on the sides and a "GMC" tailgate. The bed used to have a spray-in bedliner that was done poorly so the paint in the bed and over the bed rails is partly peeled off from when it was removed. Rusty chrome tubular grill insert. 33x12.50x16.5 Wildcat EXTs with not a lot of tread. Well-worn stock green bench seat and no other interior to speak of.

Thanks,
Eric

Re: Son of a... Another stolen truck in the Seattle area

Saaaaaay, what's going on out there in your neck of the woods? Another one stolen in Seattle. Someone steeling them and parting them out? Is anyone checking fleebay for new listings with trucks and or parts located in the northwest? Or are these trucks maybe going down to Cali?

Oh man that sucks. It's bad enough, but throw in the obvious sentimental value....it's even worse. I hope you have luck finding her.

Re: Son of a... Another stolen truck in the Seattle area

Wow that sucks a whole lot. I hope it is found and all is well with it. Maybe we need to bring back public hangings like they did for horse thieves. Might help to deter if not it will cut down on repeat offenders.

Re: Son of a... Another stolen truck in the Seattle area

Eric - My son lives in Lynnwood and works in Monroe. He's on the roads between everyday. I sent your pics and phone # to him just in case he spots it and told him to get all his work buds on the lookout too.

He had a nice ghost flamed '71 stolen in Bothell about 4 years ago and never saw it again.

Good luck, the cops are NO help.

I live in an apartment complex and my truck "disappearing" is my biggest fear. Good luck getting 'er back. Looked like a nice 4x4.

I'll be looking in the South Sound area. Do a posting on Cragslist, you will get a lot of attention there.

Re: Son of a... Another stolen truck in the Seattle area

Thanks everybody.

The license plate is 67312J, but the tabs expired in 2003 (I was getting new ones yesterday but never got to put them on), so if it's being driven around I don't know if they'd leave the plates on.

I've posted on Cragislist and on local 4x4 forums. I have several friends in local law enforcement, so there are lots of eyes out there. The Sultan (nearby town) police chief owns a '70 so I gave him a couple pictures and he said he'd pass them around.

I don't even know what else to say... I'll be sure to keep you all updated with any news.

Re: Son of a... Another stolen truck in the Seattle area

mac, What color was that ghost flamed truck? Was it blue with a white top? Long wheelbase 1/2 ton? Silver ghost flames on medium/light blue? I saw one being parted. I might even have pictures of it. I hope it was not the same truck. I was told this one came from Oregon and it was wrecked.

All these recent thefts in washington are starting to bother me!

Looks like it's time to start parking myself in, and possibly lowjack the truck

I'll keep my eyes open for you in Chehalis, Centralia, Winlock, Napavine and Vader.
