spicer 3/4 ton hubs, HD44 being parted out

yep, partin out the axle I was trying to sell complete from my '71 K20. Price for complete axle with 4.10 gears, needs brakes and balloints $250.

PM Me if you are serious about a part.

Guess the weight of the parts and figure the shipping at the UPS website. Use 95623, ElDorado CA as the ship from address.

http://wwwapps.ups.com/calTimeCost?loc=en_US
UPS

Locking external style hubs, with blue dial. The back side of the dial is broken where the pin crosses thru it on both units. They are no longer for sale until I figure out how to fix this problem and make it a lasting repair.
8 lug outers without lockouts, rotors junk $75
Flat top knuckles $75 for the pair, ya need these for a high steer conversion
Bare loaded housing , 4.10 gears $50
Axles and stub shafts, $100 for the set.
4" lift steering arm $40

All prices are PLUS shipping, and are OR best reasonable offer. I say again, hubs as of this moment are NOT for sale till they are repaired. If you want them as is, PM me, we can work something out.

I'm interested in the Spicer hubs. Does all the internal parts come with it? Thanks, Randy

If Lawman02 does not buy the hubs I am interested in them. I also would like to know if they come with all the internals.I also need the left brake dust shield if you want to part with it.

I had planned on including everything from the hub out, making them an usefull assembly.

The dust shields come with the outers.

Re: spicer 3/4 ton hubs, HD44 being parted out

Hold onto your money.. I just finished taking the hubs off from the axle, the backside of the plastic dial is broken on both sides. I need to do some research on how to make a good long lasting repair before I can sell these.

Is this broken where the small metal pin passes through the plastic? It's been awhile since I've had mine apart but I drilled a new hole for the pin, (rotated the plastic slightly).
The pointer on the plastic won't line up exactly with the chrome outer ring so this wouldn't work for "show" quality but for functionality it works fine.

Hope you can make sense out of my poor description...

Re: spicer 3/4 ton hubs, HD44 being parted out

what is the differance between a HD44 and a regular 44? - just the hub/spindles - and the 8lug with bigger brakes or is the entire axle beefier than a regular 1/2 d44??

Just different from the balljoints out. The center section is all the same.

Re: spicer 3/4 ton hubs, HD44 being parted out

Differences I am aware of between 8 lug HD and non HD.
1. lockout style (duh)
2. Bearings are slightly larger on the HD

Differences between the 1/2t and 3/4t
1. Bigger bearings on the HD
2. Larger piston for the caliper on the 3/4t(they interchange)
3. Taller rotor
4. Rumor has it some 3/4t's have thicker tubes, and larger diameter (or maybe thats just some fords)

There were small spindles, and large spindle half and 3/4 ton.

Re: spicer 3/4 ton hubs, HD44 being parted out

I am interested in the following:
8 lug outer hubs without lockouts with the spindles and dust shields-can you knock the rotors off and throw them away $75 plus shipping AND
the axles and stub shafts- these are the left and right axles from the dif case to locking hub? $75 plus shipping
Figure the shipping to 30127 and let me know the total price. PM me payment options
Thanks, DAN

Not trying to steal the thread on you...just trying to figure this out.

so there are 2 sizes of bearings for 3/4t axles????
or are all 3/4t (8-lug) axles considered "HD" with the bigger bearing size????

Thanks

Re: spicer 3/4 ton hubs, HD44 being parted out

ARKracing, I might be smoking crack on the 3/4ton bearing differences, but 3/4 ton are larger than the 1/2 ton. I think the I.D. is the same however, the half and 3/4 hubs are interchangeable.

W314: Let me separate the shaft from the Tcase, I need to check the CV and make sure its still good. Give me the measurement of your existing shaft, measured center of cap to center of cap compressed, and fully extended to confirm the size I have is the size you need. If the CV checks out, I want $100 for it.

Yeh I knew that the 3/4ts had the bigger bearing than the 1/2 ton and I know that you can put the 3/4 ton spindles on a 1/2 ton axle set up.

I guess I was confused into thinking that there were 2 different types of 3/4t axles

#1. = d44 (3/4ton)
#2. = d44HD (3/4ton)
but they are the same thing and some people just use the "HD" to designate the axle as a 3/4t

Re: spicer 3/4 ton hubs, HD44 being parted out

They have the HD designation from the factory
Spicer 44-5F, 44-6F Internal style locking hub
Spicer 44-5HDF, 44-6HDF, External locking hub

I searched again online and have confirmed that the HD does have a different inner bearing than a NON HD. as far as a 75HD or non compared to a '79 non. So they are not all the same??!?

Re: spicer 3/4 ton hubs, HD44 being parted out

Hubs will be for sale again once I have fixed the dials and aquire actuators (which these were missing) Price will be $125 for the pair, with all parts nescessary to slap these onto a bare hub. The repaird dials will be stronger than ANY NOS or used dial you will find. These wont fail like this again. The weak link is getting moved to??

If ya don't mind me askin, how are ya gonna fix the dials?
I wouldn't mind refixing mine so the pointer will line up, (and be stronger too!).
