If it's 3/4 ton it's a longbed...

Re: 1970 Need Ideas, Check it out
that is correct. there were no SWB 3/4 tons built.
Now there is a slight chance of it being a longhorn... which would require an 8 1/2 foot bed instead of an 8 footer. If your glove box option sheet (spid label) is still there, it should list the wheel base. 127 inch would be a nomral LWB, a 133 would be a longhorn. I also noticed, it either has the wrong grill on it, or the wrong feders, which is why the grill doesn't line up properly on the fenders. Can you post the VIN for up... you can leave the last 6 off of there f you are afraid of truck identity thiefs. |

Without vision, people perish....
In other words, you're on the right forum for your truck. We see "Possibilities" where others just see 4 wheels and basic transportation from point A to B. Life's just better with friends.... Welcome from Colorado!

nice man! i like it. i hate black painted grills though. other than that put a bed on it and itll look great! i think you should keep it longbed and 8lug and just drop it all the way down! something you dont see to often. 5lug you see all the time slammed. be different! thats cool it has fuel injection though! wish mine did when i got it!

Nice truck. Lots of cool things you can do with it, whether you keep it as a 3/4 ton or go SWB etc on it. Like Longhorn Man mentioned, looks like you have GMC fenders with a chevy grill which uis why they look off.
I've seen a few fixed up keeping the utility box and they looked nice too. Not most of our styles, way different from our likes, but they can look good too.

Re: 1970 Need Ideas, Check it out
If I lived close to you I would take that utility body off your hands and put it on my '68 3/4 ton 4X4.
68GMC454, I have a long time friend that lives in Tooele. He has been there for quite a few years. Maybe you know him (Andrew Selph). I beleive he is driving a 1 Ton flat bed F@#D truck now.

Re: 1970 Need Ideas, Check it out
I think that truck would look great with a new grille, drop suspension, paint it blitz black and add a made up garage logo on the door. If you really want a 5 lug swb then try to sell or trade that truck, im sure someone is looking for one, I know I am.
