weird vibration

hey whats up,
got a problem that just started to happen today, i was driving to work as allways, and i was coming up to a stop light, and i let off of the gas, and before i hit the brake pedal, i got a pretty bad vibration, up untill i stopped, and from then on out, through acceleration and deceleration, and the first thing i could think of was my wheel bearings and/or drive shaft. but i just replaced my wheel bearings(inners, outers, and seals) and rotors about two month's ago, and also have pulled them back off since to regrease them, just to be sure i got them greased properly. so i went ahead this morning and pulled both wheels and rotors, just to check, and they are fine, also i checked my u-joints , and driveshaft yokes, which are good. so i really dont know where else to go from here, oohhh and i have also just had my wheels balanced. just wondering if anybody out there has ran into this kinda problem, and can help me out, or just point me in the right direction!!
thanks

Re: weird vibration

Don't know if this will help, but you may have a brake grabbing. I had a brake hose that had collapsed in the front and when I would hit the brakes it was fine but when I let them off the pressure wouldn't completely release and the brakes would grab. Took me a while to figure that one out...

Good luck, Rg

Re: weird vibration

how about a carrier bearing in the drive shaft?? if it has one it could be bad...and how did you check the u-joints?? i've found that checking for play doesn't always work....if the bearings inside the caps dry out and pulverize they still take up the same amount of space so there still won't be any play in them

Re: weird vibration

for the u joints, i checked for play, i dont have carrier bearnings, as far as i know, the wheel weights didnt come off, i checked all of those's, and i dont have a colapsed brake line, i also checked those's. i had a buddy of mine who is a trans guy and he said it felt like it was more in likley the trans, he told me to replace the torque conveter and to be safe replace the valve body, now i'm just trying to find a torque converter and valve body. but i also had a friend tell me to look at the ring and pinion, b/c the backlash might be off, so come sunday i have alot of stuff to check out, but any more help would be great.

Re: weird vibration

ujoints are WWWWAAAYYY cheaper than a vavle body and every time im about to eat a ujoint they dont get sloppy till ive run them an extra 200 miles[ about 2weeks commute]

grease them up and see what happens.

Re: weird vibration

the lock up converter may have stayed locked up, see why before you spend, was it told to or was it stuck? diagnose and confirm before you spend. backlash in the rear wont do that out of the blue unless a catostrofic failure, i.e. pinion bearing, is it still doing it? a stuck egr valve rolling up to a stop will also cause vibration(engine miss at slow rpm's
