It's a Clifford. That's an interesting hi-rise intake on the Offy! Any info on that would be appreciated.

Re: Can you I.D. this 6 cylinder intake?
Thanks Brad, I have seen some Clifford intakes before and they were always marked, thats what trew me off on this one. I dont know much about the Offy with the cross ram adapter, got this in a bunch of hypo 6 cylinder parts from an old timer that use to race around here.

OOOOOOHHH, now it makes sense. I thought it was an oddball, 1 off Offy part for I6's, but now I see that it's 1/2 of a V8 crossram manifold.

Re: Can you I.D. this 6 cylinder intake?
Do you mean a V8 Hybrid head ? 2 V8 heads cut down by one cylinder each and welded together to make the flow-thru L6 head?

those arent BOLT holes. that's where the pins on the ends fit to hold it in alignment.

Re: Can you I.D. this 6 cylinder intake?
Those guide pins come out CCW with a vicegrips. Then you can install 3" studs--3/8-16 UNC into the head + 3/8-24 fine threads to the manifold or headers. Guide pins are OK for stock manifolds but studs and locknuts work better with headers.
As for the intake, it must be an early Clifford Research part, before they changed their name.

Re: Can you I.D. this 6 cylinder intake?
We were discussing the Offy hi-rise part. It appears it's 1 of 2 that appear on a V8 cross-ram manifold and someone put it on an Offy I6 manifold for some reason.

Re: Can you I.D. this 6 cylinder intake?
OK. I see it now. That is an interesting configuration. Was he moving the carb away from a power brake booster, or up-and-forward to make tuning easier, or for some wierd circle track or midget set-up? We'll never know.
