Need Info On Factory Locker
My C-20 has a Dana 60 rear axle with the factory "true trac" locker or limited slip posi, (no sure which one it is haven't pulled pan) and I don't know anything about this unit. I not going to mess with it but I need to know if it can handle some hot rodding abuse. I'm sure it can handle some straight line doggin' and can handle a big block since it had a 402. Is this a good unit or something just ready to pop?

Re: Need Info On Factory Locker
Well, I think you are going to have to try real hard to break that rear end, they are tough. Do the rear axle a favor and get that old lube out of there. I like to run synthetic in all of our rear ends. I would "flush" the rear first before putting in any "good" lube, to get all of the old crud out, whether you use synthetic or dino. I just run some new cheap gear lube for 2-3000 miles, dump it and put in the good stuff. Think the dana holds aboout 3 quarts.
