Brakelight Pics Wanted
Will anyone be willing to post some pictures of their custom brakelights? I am leaning towards the Vette look on mine, but rather than installing them into a rollpan, I would like to put them into a chrome bumper, if possible. So if anyone has seen or done this, I'd love to see it.
Thanks.

Re: Brakelight Pics Wanted
yeah, not with the stock lights in place... but on a nice slab of chrome, slightly recessed, I'm trying to picture it in my head, but I think it will look good. Thats why I need some pics!

Re: Brakelight Pics Wanted
I mounted an LED strip between the bumper and tailgate. This is in addition to my Cadillac style LED tail lights. My plan is to mount it in a rollpan eventually. It will easily fit in the flat space on a stock bumper.

Re: Brakelight Pics Wanted
I bought it off ebay used for a good price but they are pretty cheap brand new ($39 delivered). You need the 60" bar. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/60-LI...QQcmdZViewItem. I bought a trailer harness at Walmart ($15) so it would be plug and play with no splicing. My tailights were handmade by a former board member with 320 individual LED's in each side. They are modeled after the new Deville cars (half of the light is lit until you apply the brakes or signal).

I looked at that guys feedback and not too comofortable with what others have said, because of my two recent incidents with being burned by one and waiting 10 days for another, i'm twice shy. So i emailed him to ask if i could count on him shipping that item but still haven't heard back

Re: Brakelight Pics Wanted
I was just posting an example. I bought mine used. There are several vendors on ebay selling those. Just type in Line of Fire.

Re: Brakelight Pics Wanted
I shortened a 78-87 El Camino bumper and used it. Another board member had the idea. I will try to post pics, but I haven't done that before. I believe if you do a search for Wootdog you can see. Kerry

Re: Brakelight Pics Wanted
Yes, I know it isn't a chevy but, these are from a 70's vette (after market) but I think they fit the era for our trucks better than the newer vette lights, besides, the newer ones are a bit over used in everything (including the Ford Pickup, that's just wrong). Buy a length of thinwall pipe, drill holes in bumper, weld pipe behind each hole and cover the backside of pipe leaving just a hole for the grommet, pass wires through the grommet.

Re: Brakelight Pics Wanted
Here's how I done the ones in a 69 GMC I had. They are early 90's caddy lights.

Re: Brakelight Pics Wanted
Those are all awesome. I was thinking the 70's era Vette lights would be better. I like the round light versus the slightly boxed newer ones. and since its going into the chrome bumper, I think the round will finish out better. As well as looking more period correct. Just my oppinion, but a mildly customized 72 GMC with 70's era brake lights will look better than the same, with newer lights. I am looking everywhere for a picture of one with the lights in a chrome bumper.
Thanks again for the pics.

Re: Brakelight Pics Wanted
I think LMC Truck sells a chrome rear bumper with backup lights mounted in it. Maybe you could take the backup lights out and mount taillights? Just an idea or maybe just get an idea how lights in a bumper look.
